Basma, Flora, and Sneha presented their papers amidst numerous Stanford Alums!
Basma, Flora, Sneha, and Prof. Billington attended the 2024 ASCE International Conference on Computing in Civil Engineering (i3CE) in Pittsburgh, PA. Basma presented on one of her dissertation projects: "Using Biophilic Illusions to Promote Nature Connectedness and Occupant Wellbeing in the Built Environment." Flora shared findings from the pilot field study she helped lead with the HPDS team when she first joined the lab. Her paper and presentation was titled "Impact of Workspace Environmental Features on Occupant Wellbeing: A Naturalistic Pilot Study." Sneha presented research that extended from her dissertation work at EPFL on "A Deep Learning Model for Discomfort Glare Detection Based on Occupants’ Facial Analysis."
The presentations sparked engaging discussions and highlighted to us the importance of diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches needed to improve human well-being through innovative design and technology.
