New paper published in Journal of Planning Education and Research
In our latest paper in the Journal of Planning Education and Research titled “Understanding How Racism and Affect Impact Public Opinions toward Affordable Housing in the United States,” co-authors Isabella Douglas, Deland Chan, Lucy Bencharit, and Sarah Billington identify predictors of affordable housing support and examine the potential mediating role of racism (symbolic racism score) and affect (emotional connotation) shaping this support. This study is an initial step in understanding the shift from support of hypothetical scenarios around affordable housing to opposition of real affordable housing development proposals.
