Lab Alum Charu Srivastava leads study on working from home

Prof. Billington was a co-author on a recent paper led by Lab alum Dr. Charu Srivastava titled “Impact of workplace design on perceived work performance and well-being: Home versus office.” Co-authors include Prof. Elizabeth Murnane (Dartmouth College) and Prof. Holly Samuelson (Harvard University), Charu’s advisor.

The paper analyzes results from an online survey of worker perceptions of home and office workplace attributes and found that self-reported work performance was higher at one’s office, while comfort and well-being was higher at one’s home office. In addition, temperature, noise, furniture & aesthetics strongly predicted perceived work performance.

“Congratulations, Charu on this publication and on the successful completion of your Doctor of Design degree!”
