Prof. Alessandra Navarro visits from TU Delft
Prof. Navarro gave a talk on occupant-centered design and operation of facades
We were very happy to welcome Dr. Navarro, who is an assistant professor in Façade Design and Engineering at TU Delft and currently a Visiting Scholar at Center for Built Environment (CBE), UC Berkeley, CA. Dr. Navarro gave a talk on occupant-centered design and operation of facades during our lab group meeting and was accompanied by Katherine Excess (from Chile) who is also a Visiting Scholar at the CBE this year.
Dr. Navarro presented on a number of ongoing projects including the development of innovative cladding from recycled bio-fibers, efforts to characterize multi-domain comfort and user interaction with facade technologies, and human-centered assessment of facade serviceability limits. We had a great conversation about methods and challenges as we collectively strive towards a better understanding of the built environment’s effects on people!
